(he knows what sigma's doing. he knows a thing or two, thanks to that maze making him relieve the worst day of his life. one that is now on his parchment, his crime now listed as "failure to stop oda sakunosuke". in some ways, it can ring true here. failure to stop this situation from going to the lengths that it has - but then again, it doesn't matter. here, doesn't exactly matter in the greatest picture.

so, the smile he gives is a tired one, taking the hand carefully with long, slender fingers to bring it to his lips in a gentle kiss. it's acknowledgement, gratitude, but it's wholly unneeded.)

[ He wants to argue, it's plain as day in the concern on his face. But Dazai's clearly in no mood to relent, and knocking at a bring wall will only get you so far before hurting everyone involved.

(a gentle, kind smile. there's genuine fondness in how he is being treated, cared for, and it's nice. he's so sad, so lonely, that it feels good to be taken in like this even when he relentlessly refuses to.

there's a moment where he pauses, his hand moving to tuck some of that long hair behind the other's ear before he leans in to press closer. a gentle, lingering kiss. that's gratitude.)

[ While Sigma hadn't exactly gotten used to Dazai's more affectionate touches, he'd at least started doing a better job of not being confused by or reading too much into them. That's just how the man is, he figured, a flirt who likes to see him flustered sometimes because it's funny.

This one's hard to not be at least a little confused by.

The pink that peppers his cheeks on occasion is out in full force now, tinted red, the heart beating in his ears distracting him from remembering he's been spoken to and how to speak back. ]

Ah...you-- [ a-hem ] Yes. You're welcome.

(it's been a while since he had seen those pink cheeks, almost blending in a palette with the color of sigma's hair. it's always a sight to be fond of, something a little precious? he enjoys watching it. sometimes, it's entertaining -- he's not a saint, after all. sometimes, it's just warm.

right now, it is the latter, and he gives a full smile, all teeth, eyes closing in the process.)

[ Dazai's looking for another reaction, that has to be it. Sigma's already given one, so it's a little late to do nothing at all, but if he breaks eye contact he can at least try to not give him any more.

He's still stuck where he's standing, though. ]

(the difficult life of being a cagey, manipulative man. it's, for once, the complete opposite of what sigma is wondering himself. it's just him. seeking affection, touch, giving back as much as he'd like to take.

[ Who's he even kidding, Dazai knows exactly how bad Sigma's wanted that, wants it again and again now that he's thinking about it, ]

[ It's said sarcastically, but that spark of his usual attitude is snuffed out quickly enough by his just-as-usual nerves. He needs another second to gather that all up again. ]

(he knew it. the hand that once brought hair away from sigma's face is now a guide. it shouldn't be hard for sigma to understand that it is bringing the man to dazai. the touch of lips is much more pronounced, a proper kiss with lips that move, tongue that sneaks, and those arms that prompt sigma to climb onto dazai's lap.

it'd be easier, and honestly, hornier like that.)

[ Unsurprisingly, Sigma is easy enough to lead. Dazai's the one with experience on how these things should go, Sigma doesn't yet have enough confidence to make any bold moves or demands.

But he's not so timid that he's unwilling.

There's a shyness but not hesitance in the way he follows along, lips parting against that sneaky tongue, arms that eagerly find their way to wrap around Dazai's back, a nice resting place that pulls him in to try and settle his thighs on either side of the other man's lap.

If it wasn't obvious how hard his heart was beating before, this close, it is now. ]

(he can feel the heart beat against his hands as they rest on sigma's waist. fast, strong, and what a proof of resolve. the way he shows no second thoughts can be tasted on his tongue, and there's a smile creeping on the sides of dazai's mouth as he gives back all he's being given.

to him, it's not that deep. sometimes, we just want to be held by someone who cares about us. sigma always has, from that elevator drop all the way to how he is here, making sure both lupin and dazai can function to the best of their capabilities. dazai's-- a complicated beast, but sigma's always known that, hasn't he? perhaps the reason why this is a bad, bad idea, stems exactly from that.

still, it isn't doing a thing to hinder dazai's own resolve. the kiss is where he is putting all he has, arms that once simply held embracing. it feels nice.)
