[Seeing that Dazai's one of the first people he's met and has powers, Scott doesn't think it's weird at all to check up on him. They really haven't gotten to talk all that much, besides that initial meeting and their brief conversation over the network. While he's less sure of the other being a mutant now, seeing that other people with abilities exist here, Scott still wants to prod at this thread.]
Dazai, correct? I just wanted to ask, how have you been adjusting to this place? No one's giving you a hard time?
[Acting like leader boy to someone he doesn't know, that's basically him--]
[Interesting that the ability that takes away someone's powers is called that. One would think that it would make them more human. Scott can imagine that sort of argument taking place back home at least.
Course, it may as well be Dazai's own personal name for his powers. And that's how he views others when he takes something like that from them. Still interesting.]
No, I don't hate it. [...] It's just a part of you, like how my optic blasts are a part of me. I'm assuming it's something you can't control?
[A small beat. Before Scott answers, almost softly.]
Yeah, I can't control my powers.
[Maybe not the easiest thing to admit still, but it's the truth, and one Scott's accepted for years now. Besides, perhaps Dazai will be a little more willing to talk about this, if he admits his own fallacies with his powers. Mutants who can't control their powers tend to react better to him compared to Ororo or Peter.]
Sounds unpleasant if you have to wear that thing at all times. I'm sorry, though, revealing things about my own ability is a life and death thing! I'll keep quiet about the specifics until I die!
[Scott's a little disappointed that Dazai's unwilling to talk more about his 'gift,' but he decides to not push it much more. Some people really are cagey about this sort of thing and he gets it, really. At least he knows a couple of things, the name of his ability and that it's most likely uncontrollable and activated through touch. It's a pretty strong start.]
I'd still like to talk with you more. We don't have to discuss our powers.
[This guy. Scott allows himself to pinch his nose, because he can already tell Dazai's going to be... interesting to deal with. It's fine, he can handle it. He's the leader of the X-Men and everything.
Look at the positives, Dazai offered a olive branch by telling him where he's at right now. It's an invitation and he's going to take it. Besides, building connections and all that.]
Smoked Egg, understood. I'll see you there.
[In approximately 30 minutes or so, Scott will be there in a blue shirt and jeans, hopefully Dazai hasn't stood him up!! Because THAT WOULD BE RUDE WOW.]
(it's the best place for someone snoopy like him. drugs are free for all, tongues loosened up, and he hears, and hears, and hears. his tolerance is good enough that he can indulge and pay attention, after all. so, once scott arrives, dazai waves. he hasn't been wearing much of his usual fashion, just a black shirt that makes him look even more twink-ish, and a pair of black pants along with moccasins. the bandages are still there, as they always have.)
Hello, my smitten friend! How can I be of assistance?!
[Scott's made it a point to visit every location that he can find, gauge the atmosphere, see what each place has to offer. So, walking into the Smoked Egg isn't something unfamiliar to him, although, he wouldn't say it's a common place for him either. Not really quite his taste, but he can see why people would come here, other than the drugs and sex. Information.
Maybe he should be worried that Dazai's made him come here for their first 'reunion.' Is it some place he enjoys frequenting or specifically to get Scott here? However, he keeps a calm demeanor, smoothly sitting across from him, while slightly noting that the bandages are still on the other's person.]
I just wanted to meet, that's all. [He's going to ignore the whole 'smitten' thing because bringing attention to it is probably not worth it. He's being teased, he knows this.] You're one of the other 'ability users' that I know of in this place.
(he doesn't feel like he has a whole lot in common with this guy aside from the fact, after all. perhaps he's surrounded by others like him at home, it is only human to want what's familiar and comfortable, especially when there is none around you.)
[Does it? Maybe if Dazai's been born with this power, unlike gaining it through magical means or something similar. He's still unsure about that, but first, answering his question... slightly? There's a sense of duty at least. It's probably not fully rational and he's sure that Dazai doesn't want to hear Scott explain all his reasoning, so he simply nods.
Sure, he'll go with this.]
Yeah, nice to see others like me. [Although, he didn't react to the word mutant before--] Even if our powers are widely different.
[That's nothing new though. Not many mutants back home are even like him.] I take it that this doesn't matter to you as much? Finding others like yourself.
(especially where sex is on the table. some of us were made for this place, one could say.
the game, however, is surprising. perhaps akechi might prefer something a tad more-- personal. he sits gladly in front of the other, his hands clasping to make a surface for his chin.)
Not really. It is inevitable for me to learn who is, and even so -- abilities are soooooo... Unique and particular, that I don't think any of us is like the other! No such a thing as a super person, nor an ordinary one.
(because people are one's greatest resource. one's best bet, one's hope and despair. a fight to win, a fight to lose, nothing is possible without people around, each with their strengths.)
[Not a mindset that's unfamiliar to him, at least the part where none of them are alike in the end. Usually from mutants that are loners in some way. It's hard to really categorize Dazai in any particular place just yet, but Scott thinks he might be getting some small sense in what he's like.
The fact that he can nullify abilities with a single touch though... probably why he thinks that there's really no difference between a person with powers and a person without them. Scott doesn't really agree, but he's not here to argue about philosophies right now.]
I understand it doesn't matter to you as much, but... [Is it strange to already offer his assistance to a man that he doesn't know? That probably doesn't need it? Maybe.] If you need assistance, I'm here to offer my help.
